Fashion illustrations by Jim Howard entered into Boston Museum of Fine Arts Permanent Collection

Known for his dramatically lit fashion illustrations for top department stores in the 1970s, 80s and 90s, Jim Howard was invited to donate 39 of his works to the permanent collection of Boston's Museum of Fine Arts.

It's a wonderful honor for Jim, and an honor for paper doll collectors to have such a celebrated artist drawing paper dolls for us today. In 2009, his classic fashion illustrations were transformed into the paper doll format in Jim Howard's Fashion Illustration Paper Dolls, and he soon moved on to illustrating paper doll books of Gene Marshall and Her Glamorous Friends and Ida Lupino. Upcoming titles titles include Dorothy Lamour and Dandy Dolls.
